How do you Thrive?

I enjoy people. I love spending time with my family and friends as we explore and enjoy life together. I feel blessed that my personal cancer journey was oddly a very positive experience. I had tremendous support from my family and friends. It was also an opportunity to meet and build relationships with so many really amazing people through my medical treatments and chemo experience, to realize the fragility of life and be grateful for every moment we have together.

One of the things I do in order to Thrive is to “give back” in gratitude by volunteering at Smilow Fairfield, helping the patients, doctors, nurses and staff. I can share my cancer journey, keep someone company, talk and laugh together in order to inspire hope.

To me, one of the most important aspects of thrivership/survivorship is building a sense of community with others who are going through, or have previously been through, the same or a similar experience. The Thrive Center for Cooperative Wellness will be a place to meet, exercise, learn, share, build friendships and experience life together within a supportive community environment

What drives and excites you to bring “Thrive” alive to cancer patients?

Thrive will impact the Oncology community in a big and better way by bringing together multiple diverse resources, such as exercise, nutrition, meditation, cancer support, education, counseling, etc. all under one roof…Thrive!
